Exercise 2 (Non-Destructive Modelling)

  Exercise 2 (Non-Destructive Modelling)

The exercise is to do a model of animal that use primitive objects and by adding modifiers such as subdivision surface, array, curve, simple modifier, etc.

The object I decide to create is a Fish.

Below is the screenshots of the process

Modeling Stage

In Figure 1, I use a cube object and added a simple modifier twice, the first I made it to Taper the z-axis and then Stretch the X-axis to give a fishtail look.

Figure 1

In Figure 2, I use a cube object to add a simple modifier to Bend the X-axis and then adding a bezier object to add to the curve of the cube to make it look like the side fins of the fish.

Figure 2

For the rest of the fins, I use a simple modifier to Taper in X-axis and adjust four of the fins accordingly.

Figure 3

In figure 4, I added a lattice with resolution (U: 3, V: 6, W: 4) to add more vertices on the body to adjust the fish's body

Figure 4

In figure 5, I adjusted the fish body with the lattice giving it a more slimmer shaped body.

Texturing stage

Figure 6 shows the outcome of the fish with added materials.

Lighting stage

Adding two point lights and directing it towards the fish. I also added plane to add a background of an ocean.
